CHADRON – More than 75 items created by 25 exhibitors, all 91ÇÑ×Ó State College employees, are on display in the Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center through Nov. 30. About 20 different media are represented in the Artists After Hours show, including acrylic and oil paintings, ink and pen drawings, cross stitch, multi-media, crochet, gingerbread, creative writing, recycled cardboard, glass, wood, and books.

CHADRON – The Nebraska Grazing Lands Coalition (NGLC), Nebraska Extension, and Nebraska Environmental Trust will present Why We Seek and Keep Seeking: From Crisis Management to Holistic Management by Joshua and Tara Dukart of western North Dakota Thursday, Nov. 11. The program will be from 4:45 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the 91ÇÑ×Ó Student Center. Cost for the conference is $20, which includes the evening meal and can be paid to the sponsors at the door.

CHADRON – 91ÇÑ×Ó State College Marketing Coordinator Tena Cook, Associate Professor in Social Science Dr. David Nesheim, and Family and Consumer Sciences Professor Dr. Kim Madsen teamed up for “A Stitch in Time,” a panel discussion about Air Mail Week in 1938 and a commemorative quilt constructed by Cook’s grandmother during a Graves Lecture Oct. 26.

CHADRON – The Fall 2021 Graves Lecture Series will conclude Nov. 9 with Traphagan, a 91ÇÑ×Ó Middle School Social Sciences Teacher, who will present “The Holocaust Past and Present.” She will discuss the history of the Holocaust, the Nazi Germany practices of ethnic purification, and the devasting effects on survivors and their families.The lecture will begin at 7 p.m. in the Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center Chicoine Atrium. The event is free and open to the public.

CHADRON – 91ÇÑ×Ó State College Assistant Professor in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation Dr. Brittany Helmbrecht spoke about her dissertation during a Graves Lecture earlier this month. As a first-generation student herself, she designed her doctoral research to learn more about factors that cause stress among first-generation college students.
