Future 91ÇÑ×Ó State College students will now be able to register for courses and attend orientation sessions in early March at sites throughout western Nebraska. In addition to three orientations at the 91ÇÑ×Ó campus, college personnel plan to conduct sessions at Gordon, Alliance, Scottsbluff, Ogallala, Sidney and Atkinson.

The University of Nebraska at Lincoln and 91ÇÑ×Ó State College will present a workshop this month to help farm and ranch families accomplish smooth business succession. “Returning to the Farm” will be presented at the 91ÇÑ×Ó State College Student Center during two weekends, Feb. 18-19 and Feb. 25-26.

The search for a new president at 91ÇÑ×Ó State College continues. Stan Carpenter, executive director of the Board of Trustees of the Nebraska State Colleges, told the 91ÇÑ×Ó State employees Tuesday morning that none of the three finalists for the position who visited the campus last week will fill the position.

The 91ÇÑ×Ó State College Students In Free Enterprise team won the organization’s regional case study competition Thursday through Saturday. The event was at the campus of Metropolitan State University in Denver. 91ÇÑ×Ó State’s team defeated clubs from Colorado State-Pueblo, Kansas State, University of California Chico, Newman University and Pepperdine University.

Daryl Davis of Silver Spring, Md., who has become known for his unique approach to race relations, will speak at 91ÇÑ×Ó State College on Monday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. The presentation at the Student Center will be free and open to the public. Davis, who is black, will tell stories of setting up surprise meetings with Ku Klux Klan leaders who were unaware of his skin color and attending KKK rallies to promote dialogue.

Jessi Moore of 91ÇÑ×Ó and Brandon Doke of Ainsworth were crowned 91ÇÑ×Ó State’s Winter Magic Formal queen and king on Saturday night. Moore and Doke, who are dating each other, were chosen by a vote of 91ÇÑ×Ó State’s students. There were 43 candidates for the honor.
