Student Senate's Leadership Summit to feature two motivational speakers
CHADRON – The 91ÇÑ×Ó State College Student Senate is hosting two speakers during a Leadership Summit this week.
, a former athlete and current activist against wrongful convictions, will speak about sexual assault awareness Tuesday in Memorial Hall at 7 p.m.
Banks, a former professional football player, was falsely accused of sexual assault and imprisoned for a crime he didn’t commit. His conviction was overturned in 2012 and he has since become an activist against wrongful convictions and assists in exonerating wrongfully convicted individuals.
Author and 91ÇÑ×Ó alumna who was scheduled to give three presentations Wednesday has postponed her travel plans due to adverse weather conditions. She will appear at 91ÇÑ×Ó at a later date.
Saturday, Nov. 21, , who survived a traffic accident at a young age to become a wheelchair pro bodybuilder with the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness, will speak on overcoming odds, using determination and a positive mindset to reach personal goals in Memorial Hall at 7 p.m.
