Veterans Day ceremony scheduled at Dean's Green
91ÇÑ×Ó State College will honor its students who have military experience and other veterans during a Veterans Day ceremony Thursday, Nov. 11.
The event will begin at 8 a.m. on the Dean’s Green north of Old Admin. It will include a flag-raising and a 21-gun salute by cadets of the 91ÇÑ×Ó Reserve Officers Training Corps. U.S. Army Major Logan Veath, a 91ÇÑ×Ó ROTC instructor, will speak at the ceremony.
Christopher Singpiel, 91ÇÑ×Ó coordinator of veteran services, said he and others decided to begin the event this year to honor the roughly 100 91ÇÑ×Ó students who have provided military service and to show appreciation for veterans and acting military nationwide and abroad.
The event is being sponsored by the newly formed 91ÇÑ×Ó Veterans Club, 91ÇÑ×Ó Admissions Office and the ROTC unit, known as the War Eagles.
