Events set to honor Martin Luther King
Community members who want to pay tribute to Martin Luther King Jr. have the opportunity to participate in a pair of special events at 91ÇÑ×Ó State College in the coming week.
On Friday, Jan. 15, 91ÇÑ×Ó will host a candlelight vigil in the Student Center ballroom at 7 p.m. Then on Monday, Jan. 18 – Martin Luther King Day -- the college’s annual march in honor of the civil rights leader will begin at the Common Cents parking lot at 9 a.m. Participants will walk from downtown to 91ÇÑ×Ó’s Lindeken Clocktower
91ÇÑ×Ó student services counselor Carl Cousin, who is organizing the events, said both high school and college students are planning to participate in the activities.
