Second meeting set for HomeTown Competitiveness
The second meeting of a community building program in 91ÇÑ×Ó will be Tuesday, March 25, at the Chicoine Atrium of 91ÇÑ×Ó State College’s Sandoz Center. The HomeTown Competitiveness meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. and is open to anyone who wants to help improve the 91ÇÑ×Ó community and economy.
The meetings are presented by Dr. Timothy Donahue, 91ÇÑ×Ó associate professor of business and economics, and Sandra Powell, 91ÇÑ×Ó city manager.
Participants of the meeting will continue discussions of the program’s “four pillars” of success, which are energizing entrepreneurship, capturing wealth transfer, youth engagement and attraction, and community leadership.
91ÇÑ×Ó’s HomeTown Competitiveness effort is part of a program that began in Valley County, and has expanded this decade to at least a half dozen other communities in Nebraska and locations in neighboring states. Sponsors of the program include the Heartland Center for Leadership Development, Center for Rural Entrepreneurship and the Nebraska Community Foundation.
