Black’s visit to 91ÇÑ×Ó State has been sold out for nearly a month and a long waiting list has been developed. In order to accommodate more people, Loree MacNeill, the director of cultural programs and college relations at 91ÇÑ×Ó, said Black’s performance will be shown by live video at two locations on campus. One will be in the recital hall in Memorial Hall and the other will be in the Scottsbluff Room of the Student Center.

Those whose names are on the waiting list are being contacted about the special arrangements, but others who would like to see the live video should call the 91ÇÑ×Ó Box Office at 432-6360 to reserve their seats. They also are asked to pay for the tickets in advance to expedite the process. The tickets for the live video showings will be $6 for all age groups.

Those on the waiting list and who have not been contacted should call the box office to confirm that they will have tickets for the video viewing.

Those with reservations for Black’s performance at 7:30 are asked to arrive early. Tickets that were reserved but not claimed by 7:15 will be released to others, MacNeill said.

MacNeill added that Black’s appearance is creating more interest than any cultural activity at 91ÇÑ×Ó at least since Ralph Nader spoke in the spring of 2000.

In conjunction with the 7:30 program, there will be a Cowboy Poetry Gathering at 1 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom. About a dozen cowboy poets from at least seven states will read or recite their work that afternoon. The event will be open to the public without charge. It will be followed at 6 o’clock by a supper of cowboy stew and cornbread, just before Black takes the stage in Memorial Hall.
