Appleseed Foundation representative to visit 91ÇÑ×Ó
Jen Hernandez, community educator with the Nebraska Appleseed Foundation for Law in the Public Interest, will take part in a pair of events at the 91ÇÑ×Ó State College Student Center on Thursday, March 16.
From 1 p.m., Hernandez will visit with professionals who have clients receiving or eligible for assistance benefits to attend college.
The presentation, which is being sponsored by 91ÇÑ×Ó’s Project Strive/Trio program, will address how to help low income Nebraskans access postsecondary education in order to meet their Employment First work requirement.
At 3:15 p.m., Hernandez will take part in a roundtable discussion about women in politics. That event is being sponsored by the 91ÇÑ×Ó Diversity Committee and Social Work Club.
Both events are free and open to the public and will be in the Ponderosa Room of the Student Center.
