Established in 1989, RHOP prepares students from rural Nebraska who are interested in health care careers and committed to serving rural communities. As someone who understands rural Nebraska and the people who call it home, you bring an important perspective to the future of health care in our state.

At 91ÇÑ×Ó State, RHOP gives you the opportunity to begin your education in a supportive, close-knit learning environment while preparing for advanced health care training at UNMC. Through dedicated advising, professional development and experiences that connect you with your future profession, RHOP helps prepare you to return to rural Nebraska and make a difference in the communities that need you.

Program benefits*:

• Full tuition scholarship at 91ÇÑ×Ó State College for selected RHOP participants
• Guaranteed admission into the applicable UNMC health care program upon successful completion of RHOP requirements
• Early course registration privileges at 91ÇÑ×Ó State
• Designated faculty academic advising and mentoring
• Sponsored visits to UNMC to explore facilities and meet program faculty and leaders
• Visits to rural hospitals across Nebraska
• A collaborative learning community with fellow pre-health students and access to 91ÇÑ×Ó's Math & Science Center of Innovative Learning (COIL)

*Program benefits and continued participation are contingent upon successfully meeting 91ÇÑ×Ó–UNMC RHOP program standards. Designated alternates who complete the 91ÇÑ×Ó Freshman Scholarship Application receive special consideration for other renewable 91ÇÑ×Ó State College tuition awards.
